What is Bealtaine all about?
Beltane, or Bealtaine, is one of the great Fire Festivals of the Celtic tradition. The name ‘Beltane’ comes from the Celtic God Bel, meaning “the bright one,” and the Gaelic word teine, meaning “fire.” Together, they create “Bright Fire” or “Sacred Fire,” celebrating the life-giving power of the Sun. Traditionally, great bonfires were lit to honor the Sun’s return and to bless the land with fertility and abundance.
The message of Bealtaine is one of activation: a call to build self-confidence, awaken inner joy, and heal the unseen wounds within. It invites us into forgiveness, emotional processing, and the sacred balancing of the Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine energies within.
